    Impact Charitable is a philanthropic capital intermediary that serves as a bridge between funders and communities, designing responsive pathways that unlock and accelerate capital to ventures, projects, and funds. Through our growing suite of products and services—including donor-advised funds, multi-donor funds, and program-related investment services—we’ve deployed over $100 million in catalytic capital to advance economic mobility, impact-first investing, and community wealth-building.

    Unlock Ownership (UO) is a major initiative managed within Impact Charitable, created to build equitable wealth and empower communities through alternative ownership models. Following a highly encouraging $3.1 million pilot, UO is poised for significant growth.

    Located in Denver, Colorado, Impact Charitable works with funders, foundations, and investors across the country to move more money, in more ways, to more people and places.

    Position Summary

    Impact Charitable is seeking an entrepreneurial and proven leader to serve as the Director of Unlock Ownership. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a major initiative from a successful pilot to its next stage of impact. The primary goal for this role is to lead the development and fundraising for UO to its first $20 million milestone.

    The secondary goal is to support and grow the systems and processes for capital deployment. This position will support the Fund in attracting additional capital to support an increasing number of social enterprises focused on increasing assets and wealth for more people.

    The ideal candidate is an adept fundraiser and strategic leader with a proven track record of accessing capital from donor-advised funds (DAFs) and foundations. They must possess an entrepreneurial character and a strong, demonstrated commitment to Impact Charitable's mission to serve as a bridge moving capital towards communities that face structural exclusion and reduce barriers to economic prosperity.

    Responsibilities

    Fundraising & Capital Strategy (75%)

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising and capital-raising strategy to grow Unlock Ownership from its pilot phase to $20 million in assets.
    • Proactively identify, cultivate, and solicit a robust pipeline of prospective investors, with a primary focus on donor-advised funds, private foundations, and family offices.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing investors and key ecosystem partners, including wealth advisors, philanthropic consultants, and community leaders.
    • Serve as a lead external voice for UO, articulating its mission, impact, and investment thesis at conferences, investor meetings, and industry events.
    • Develop compelling proposals, pitch decks, presentations, and donor reports in collaboration with the program and finance teams.

    UO Management & Deployment Systems (15%)

    • Support UOs capital deployment strategy, ensuring alignment with its mission of economic equity.
    • Contribute to improving and streamlining the UOs investment systems, from sourcing and diligence to closing and monitoring.
    • Collaborate with the investment committee and program team to manage the investment pipeline, ensuring a high standard of analysis and community impact.
    • Support the development of organizational budgets, financial forecasting, and operational plans for UO.
    • Portfolio support and monitoring.
    • Lead the development of investor relations and impact reporting processes and activities.

    Leadership & Operations (10%)

    • Provide strategic leadership for UO setting goals and priorities in partnership with Impact Charitable's executive leadership.
    • Support Communication efforts surrounding UO
    • Liaise with the Executive Director and Board periodically to discuss progress, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
    • Support ongoing organizational operational needs as required and assigned.

    Key Competencies

    • Seven to ten years of professional work experience, with significant, proven success in fundraising, capital raising, or investor relations, preferably within the impact investing or philanthropic sectors.
    • A demonstrated track record of building and managing a pipeline of investors and successfully securing capital from individuals with donor-advised funds (DAFs) and/or foundations.
    • Familiarity with equitable wealth-creation models (e.g., employee ownership, community land trusts, alternative real estate) and/or impact investing principles is strongly preferred.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, with experience in scaling an organization, fund, or program from a pilot or early stage toward a significant growth milestone.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to proactively and compellingly communicate a complex vision to diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong project management skills with an ability to track and manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
    • A strong belief in Impact Charitable's mission to mobilize capital towards communities that face structural exclusion and reduce barriers to economic prosperity.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to effectively self-manage time and priorities in a remote work environment.

    Work Environment

    • This position can be based in our Denver, CO headquarters or remote.
    • Regular travel (estimated 20-30%) will be required for in-person investor meetings, conferences, and team convenings.
