The NCCA is a membership-driven 501(c)(3) organization with a for-profit wholly-owned subsidiary, Oak Park Banquets, Inc. The Staff Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficient operations of the NCCA and OPB. This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical and professional day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivables, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • General Ledger & Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, prepare and post journal entries, and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger for a timely month end closing.

    • Membership & Revenue Accounting: Process membership dues and other revenue streams, ensuring proper recording and tracking of all contributions and their associated donor restrictions in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
    • Payroll processing: Process payroll through the NCCA online service provider (ADP) on a bi-weekly basis. Processing payroll involves ensuring approvals are obtained, hours are properly allocated, and reports are provided to appropriate staff and board.
    • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including cash flows, profit and loss, balance sheets and income statements.
