    Description

    The Music Therapy program at The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music is looking for experienced,

    board certified music therapists to join our team of 20 MT-BCs and LCATS.. Located in Park

    Slope, Brooklyn, BKCM Music Therapy provides services to over 2700 children, teens, adults

    and seniors in our building and throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and The Bronx. We

    are a culturally responsive, community music therapy program seeking humanistic, client-

    centered, music therapists with high degrees of musical skill, professionalism, and the desire to

    work in under resourced communities. We offer paid peer supervision, student supervision

    training and support, professional development and CEs, and performance opportunities for

    clinicians and clients.

    Position Summary

    When: Tuesdays/ Thursdays from 9 am to 2 pm starting 1/21, 1/28 or 2/3, and running through

    6/18/26.

    Where: South Bronx (5 min walk from the 2, 3 or 5 trains)

    What: D 75 public middle school for students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other

    developmental disabilities. Group work focused on social-emotional, developmental, and mental

    health goals.

    Working in an under-resourced area, with a great principal, in a sensory room. High buy-in from

    the school. Opportunities to work closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service

    providers.

    Benefits

    Compensation: $70 per hour.

    Requirements:

    • Master’s Degree in Music Therapy.
    • Music Therapy Board Certification (MT-BC).
    • Strong music skills, independence and flexibility.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Passion for equity and accessibility.
    • 2 years clinical experience.
    • High level skills using guitar and voice.
    • Group music therapy work experience.

    Preferred Criteria

    • Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) by NYS Office of Professions preferred.

    Eligibility for LCAT limited permit required.

    • Experience working with neurodiverse youth and/or foster care, immigrant communities,

    trauma informed care.

    • Supervision experience (pre-interns, practicum students, interns, teaching experience).
    • Competency in conversational Spanish and/or Mandarin, Arabic, French.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Preferred Criteria
