    JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a part-time position that will provide monitoring for the housing facility and residents specifically supporting individuals involved in domestic and victim services during the overnight weekend shift.

    Overall Responsibilities: To monitor the facility to ensure a calm, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere within and outside of the facility. Staff will work closely with participants, including those impacted by domestic violence or other victimization, to promote a safe, clean, sober, orderly, and healthy environment at all times.

    Schedule:

    Saturday and Sunday Overnight

    10:00pm–6:00am or 11:00pm–7:00am

    $17.95 per hour. No benefits included

    General Duties:

    • Maintain documentation of all facility activity, including the facility Visitor’s Log, and check visitor IDs.
    • Promptly and accurately report any issues or concerns regarding participants including those receiving domestic or victim support services to the Director of Re-entry and Victim Services.
    • Monitor facility security cameras.
    • Conduct and document interior and exterior facility checks.
    • Monitor the facility entrance and walk the exterior perimeter.
    • Monitor all visitor activities.
    • Provide support and maintain a trauma-informed approach when interacting with residents who may be survivors of domestic violence or other victimization.
    • Serve as emergency personnel and report to work as scheduled regardless of circumstances (inclement weather, highway congestion, etc.).
    • Report any suspected resident unauthorized activity or absence and prepare Incident Reports.
    • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality, especially when handling sensitive information related to domestic or victim services.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
    • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
    • Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification and any related certifications or screenings required.
    • Experience working in domestic violence, victim services, crisis intervention, or related human services fields is preferred but not required.
    • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional when interacting with individuals who may be experiencing trauma, crisis, or emotional distress.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    The employee may be in contact with individuals in crisis, including those impacted by domestic violence, trauma, or victimization. Some residents may also be ill, using alcohol or drugs, or inattentive to basic personal hygiene and safety practices. The employee may experience several unpleasant sensory demands associated with these situations.

    The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis and potentially hostile situations. Work may become stressful when working under pressure.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting.

    • This is sedentary work in a residential setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, talk, hear, reach above and below shoulders, use hand and finger dexterity, perform keyboarding, and make and receive telephone calls. The employee may be required on occasion to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs.
