    Description

    We are currently seeking a passionate, skilled and committed individual to join Internationals Network as a Senior Manager of School Support in the California Bay Area with a potential start date ASAP.

    WHO WE ARE

    Our mission is to provide quality education for recently arrived immigrants by growing and sustaining a strong na­tional network of innovative public secondary schools, while broadening our impact by sharing proven best practices and influencing policy for multilingual learners (MLLs) nationally.

    English Language Learners represent nearly 10% of the US public school population. Across the US, immigrant MLLs graduate high school at among the lowest rates and dropout at among the highest of all student subgroups. Internationals Network for Public Schools is the only school development and support organization that specifically addresses the educational needs of this population. Based on 33 years of experience, Internationals Network has proven methods for tailoring the core principles encompassing instruction, culture, structure, and leadership—to effectively serve this population.

    We partner with public schools, districts, community organizations, and others to design, open and support schools and provide professional development and resources to educators.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    The Senior Manager of School Support – Bay Area will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering services to schools in the Bay Area, both within and beyond the Internationals Network. This role ensures that schools receive consistent, high-quality support aligned with the Internationals Approach. You will work closely with school leaders, teachers, and network staff to implement professional development, instructional coaching, school intervisitations, and collaborative learning opportunities that improve outcomes for multilingual learners.

    This is a hybrid role requiring regular travel within the Bay Area and occasional regional travel within California or national travel for network-wide events.

    The Senior Manager of School Support-Bay Area will report directly to the Director of School Support - CA and will work collaboratively with the other members of the Schools team and the Program team. They will identify areas of need, market Internationals Network’s services to schools in the Bay Area, write proposals, execute contracts, and conduct ongoing assessment of services provided to schools to ensure high quality.

    YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    Service Delivery

    • Coordinate and deliver professional development workshops, coaching, and school-based services aligned with the Internationals Model.
    • Employ a repertoire of coaching strategies for adult learners including real-time, side-by-side classroom coaching, co-planning, analysis of student work, sharing of pertinent resources, and observation and feedback that builds on teachers’ strengths and models student learning. These include Internationals-developed coaching cycles for teachers and teams.
    • Support the planning and execution of network events such as principal meetings, leadership retreats, school intervisitations, Summer Institute, and conferences.
    • Collaborate with school leaders to identify needs, set goals, and monitor progress toward implementing best practices for MLLs.
    • Facilitate teacher and leader cohorts including coaching cycles, inquiry groups, and professional learning communities.
    • Manage logistics for PD events, including scheduling, materials, and communication with facilitators and participants.

    Program Management

    • Assist in data collection and analysis to inform service delivery and school improvement planning.
    • Document and share promising practices and learnings from Bay Area schools to inform network-wide learning.
    • Contribute to grant reporting and evaluation by tracking service delivery and school outcomes.
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of services to build more entry points for school development, supporting the organization's growth goals.
    • Support team in planning to meet contractual and grant deliverables.
    • Provide regular meaningful feedback, coaching, and support to consultants in alignment with Internationals' annual and long-term mission objectives, people plans, and individual developmental needs.

    Partnerships

    • Support new school development efforts by assisting with outreach, planning, and early implementation support.
    • Liaise with district partners and school-based staff to ensure alignment and responsiveness of services.
    • Advocate on behalf of schools, academies and partners to ensure they are able to implement the Internationals Approach and best practices for serving multilingual learners. Efforts include but are not limited to: assessment, hiring, scheduling, instruction, curriculum, professional development and student support.
    • Support in the establishment, negotiation, and maintenance of contacts with schools and school leaders serving significant numbers of multilingual learners.
    • Participate in network-wide professional learning and peer inquiry with other Internationals staff.

    • Passion for Internationals Network’s mission and strong commitment to school improvement, immigrant education and education reform
    • Strong understanding of the Internationals Approach to supporting MLLs
    • Strong project management, program planning and implementation skills
    • Ability to implement services to schools to achieve the greatest impact
    • Experience coaching adults in education settings
    • Experience and/or ability to market services to districts, schools, & other potential partners
    • Experience utilizing data to inform decision-making
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships on behalf of the organization
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders
    • Ability to communicate in an effective and compelling manner, both orally and in writing
    • Experience planning meetings, conferences, and events of varying sizes
    • Contract negotiation experience is a plus

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Master’s Degree in education, nonprofit management, and/or related field
    • Minimum of 3-5 years experience working with MLLs, teachers of MLLs, school and district leaders.

    SALARY

    • Salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000.
