Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles has been an active affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International for more than 30 years. By building and preserving affordable housing through new construction, renovations, and home repairs, Habitat LA is transforming communities throughout Los Angeles County. Through access to affordable loans, housing counseling, down-payment assistance, skilled construction training, financial education, and volunteer opportunities, the organization has strengthened families, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the region. On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region each year, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking a qualified candidate to raise increased funds by successfully identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective major and planned gift donors.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- In partnership with the Senior Director of Individual Giving, develop and execute an annual plan with clear timelines, performance benchmarks, and progress reports to guide strategies, track achievements, and identify emerging opportunities related to Major and Planned Gift donors. Ensure thorough documentation for accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Manage a portfolio of 150 individual donors contributing gifts ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, with a fundraising goal of approximately $700,000 in FY26 and anticipated moderate growth in subsequent years.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships through consistent, proactive communication with the entire portfolio. Schedule and attend regular calls, donor meetings, and site visits with current and prospective funders.
- In collaboration with the Senior Director of Individual Giving, work closely with the events team to execute annual stewardship events for major and planned gift donors, while also engaging current and prospective donors through site visits and signature events.
SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, credit check, and a driving record check
- Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
- Must have a reliable internet connection
- 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, donor relations, and nonprofit development, with demonstrated donor cultivation and stewardship success.
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of major donors and meet or exceed annual fundraising goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain long-term donor relationships.
- Comfort with donor databases/CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and maintaining accurate donor records and reports.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, especially with events and construction teams, and represent the organization with professionalism and integrity.

COMPENSATION
Pay Range: $72,000 - $85,000
Salary offers are based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, experience, and qualifications. They range from entry to mid-level.
