    Description

    The Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA) is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to lead donor acquisition and stewardship of supporters. The Senior Donor Relations Specialist will develop, implement and manage strategies for comprehensive donor giving. With a focus on research, the Specialist will create and execute strategic fundraising-related programs. The candidate will provide end-to-end donor relations management with individual donors, foundations, corporations and related organizations. This full-time employee will perform administrative responsibilities in an efficient, timely and professional manner. The Specialist must be strategic, reliable, highly motivated and possess a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will be able to exercise sound judgment and add value, while furthering the organization’s mission and goals.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Expand and implement the Association’s donor relations strategy, including a wide range of fundraising-related programs
    • Plan and coordinate acquisition efforts across mail, digital and Association events to increase new donor volume and promote early retention
    • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with donors and prospects using thoughtful communication and dependable follow throughs
    • Establish and execute a steady cadence for acknowledgments, recognition and impact updates
    • Create and manage procedural documents for fundraising-related programs with a defined path to scale over time
    • Design and create fundraising collateral for distribution
    • Generate correspondence for donors including research inquiries, information requests and renewals
    • Ensure prompt and accurate receipting with complete recordkeeping to keep outreach targeted and compliant
    • Review and summarize performance results to recommend targeted adjustments to messages, timing and segmentation
    • Manage a detailed record of stewardship actions and contact reports
    • Maintain multiple databases and spreadsheets with acute accuracy and attention to detail
    • Employ email marketing software to actively engage with donors
    • Monitor the organization’s donor relations email addresses
    • Establish and lead event planning activities for donor-related events, including onsite recognition
    • Represent the organization at meetings and special events
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in business administration, marketing, nonprofit management or related field; master’s degree preferred
    • At least five years of relevant experience in donor development, constituent engagement and/or sales; nonprofit or member association experience preferred
    • Proven experience developing and implementing donor relations strategy
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, interacting effectively with individuals across various levels
    • Excellent telephone, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • Must possess strong computer and database management skills
    • Highly proficient writing, proofreading and editing skills
    • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
    • Effective time management skills with focus on meeting deadlines
    • Event management experience preferred
    • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Adobe Creative Cloud and Google Workspace
    • Email marketing software experience preferred
