    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Performers Programs Facilitator is responsible for planning and executing various virtual and in-person classes for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Performers Programs, and for creating and maintaining educational resources related to the subjects covered in their classes. The candidate will deliver classes on diverse subjects for an audience of performers ranging from the application of technology in an actor’s life and career to audition technique, financial management, and mental health awareness. The Performers Programs Facilitator is a part-time position working 21 hours per week.

    The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, a high level of technological aptitude, professional experience in content creation, including for digital media, and a deep understanding of the film and television industries.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Execute 1-2 hour classes devised and scheduled by the Performers Programs directors.
    • Write clear and concise copy describing the class and all requirements for attendees in advance of the class.
    • Set up any technology required for in-person classes, including making any specific requests in advance.
    • Identify experts in various relevant fields and invite them to join classes or lead classes, as appropriate.
    • Collect information about attendees, both anecdotal and generic, to include in funding reports.
    • Compile feedback and notes from classes to ensure classes can be continually updated and improved.
    • Seek out and invite guest speakers and industry professionals for classes and prepare all related materials such as handouts, PowerPoint presentations, and other instructional content.
    • Maintain all class materials and notes to ensure that other staff can easily pick up classes in their absence.
    • Train on-call facilitators on curriculum.
    • Maintain exceptional knowledge of and report upwards on new developments in the entertainment industry (best practices, services, products, standards, requirements etc.)
    • Maintain attendance records from all events.
    • Answers communications from members.

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Advanced computer and technology skills, including but not limited to photo editing, video editing, website building and development, digital and social media
    • Excellent teaching skills, including curriculum development (professional experience required)
    • A sophisticated knowledge of and appreciation for the artform and career of acting, and an awareness of the diverse pathways to success for actors and other SAG-AFTRA performers
    • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented
    • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
    • Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks under a deadline
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact
    • Ability to organize and expedite a heavy workload efficiently
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated interpretative and analytic ability
    • Able to work independently
    • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s sole discretion
