    Description

    Branches of Faith is an A Rocha USA initiative, in partnership with Creation Justice Ministries, to increase tree canopy in four locations in the U.S., including the Orlando/Titusville area of Florida. The project aims to engage Christian congregations in the work of creation care by planting trees with their communities. We are seeking a Branches of Faith Coordinator in Central Florida to lead church engagement, coordinate participatory planning meetings, and support tree-planting efforts.

    As a part of the A Rocha USA (ARUSA) team, the Branches of Faith Coordinator in Central Florida reports to the Project Director, with input and support from the Church Engagement Coordinator and other members of the Branches of Faith team.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Work in collaboration with the Church Engagement Coordinator to adapt and implement Branches of Faith outreach strategies, mobilizing and engaging churches in urban tree planting in the Orlando/Titusville area of Florida.
    • Develop and cultivate relationships with local churches, tree experts, municipal government, and other local stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact.
    • Coordinate training workshops and other project events, including scheduling, registration, communications, and follow-up.
    • Support faith leaders and their congregations in implementing urban tree planting initiatives.
    • Document church participation and project outcomes.
    • Complete timely reporting on project metrics and engage in storytelling.
    • Participate in all the required training.
    • Perform other duties related to the Branches of Faith project or the Florida Conservation Project as required or assigned.

    Education and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
    • Three or more years of experience in project coordination and community mobilization/engagement.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with faith communities in multi-racial settings.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
    • Working knowledge of primary social media and communication.
    • Demonstrated ability to track deliverables, organize data, and produce reports.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Understanding of the nuances and complexities of the Christian traditions in North America.
    • Experience in participatory planning.
    • Familiarity with the conservation and/or environmental sectors.

    Position Status and Salary

    Part-time, 12 hours/week, $25 hourly rate. (Note: this position is currently grant-funded through March 2028).
