About the Organization
Founded by Ruth Rollins in 2017, We Are Better Together Warren Daniel Hairston Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging and empowering individuals on both sides of gun violence. Through trauma-informed programming, advocacy, and community partnerships, WAB2G fosters healing and unity among families impacted by homicide and incarceration.
Position Overview
The Supervisor, Case Manager & Outreach role is a dynamic leadership position that supports WAB2G’s mission by coordinating outreach efforts, managing trauma-informed casework, and supervising staff. This individual will work closely with the Director of Programs, city officials, and community partners to connect residents affected by violence and incarceration to supportive services.The role is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Engagement
- Lead and supervise the Neighborhood Trauma Team
- Develop and implement outreach strategies; monitor team performance
- Represent WAB2G at community events, partner meetings, and public forums
- Conduct in-person outreach, including walking, lifting, and transporting materials
- Drive to various community sites and client locations as needed Case Management
- Supervise and mentor case managers and interns
- Manage a personal caseload using trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches
- Conduct client intakes, assessments, and home visits
- Develop individualized service and referral plans
- Facilitate referrals and follow-ups with partner agencies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation Training & Facilitation
- Develop and deliver training for staff and volunteers
- Facilitate support groups, healing circles, and community presentations
- Support youth-led programming and peer mentorship initiatives Administrative & reporting
- Oversee data entry and reporting for outreach and case management
- Participate in staff meetings, strategic planning, and program evaluations
- Assist with grant reporting and outcome tracking
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Experience in case management, advocacy, and outreach
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work with residents impacted by violence in a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed way
- Comfortable meeting clients in community-based or trauma-informed settings
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, bend, and walk during outreach activities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
- Public speaking and presentation skills a plus
Experience & Education
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in social services, community outreach, or related work
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Public Policy, or a related field preferred
