    Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center (UMMHC) is excited to announce that we are hiring a Chief Integrated Care Officer. We are a community-based, outpatient behavioral health and SUD provider, serving individuals and families throughout the lifespan. We have been part of the Harlem/ Washington Heights community for over 30 years. We are looking for a candidate who is both a strong and experienced clinician and administrator, committed to client-centered, trauma-focused care and addressing social determinants of health in a team-based setting.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • The CICO is an experienced health care administrator with a strong understanding of social determinates of health, the ability to promote a culture of client-centered care, experience building interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration and the vision to help our organization expand the breadth and depth of services we offer the community.
    • The CICO’s specific responsibilities are as follows:

    Administrative

    • Collaborates with agency administrators to build new care delivery models with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.
    • Contributes to the development of strategic planning for improving and expanding the agency’s offerings, recommends changes in program content in concurrence with changing markets and technologies.
    • Facilitates the Grand Rounds committee.
    • Reviews and evaluates all aspects of the service programs with Program Directors on a regular basis.
    • Conducts regular reviews and updates of Center Operations Manual and the Clinical Procedural Manual for each Service Unit. Develops content for the Center Operations Clinical Procedures Manual as appropriate.
    • Serves as a resource and consultant to all areas of the organization, may chair or serve on committees, may be required to represent organization to external entities and/or serve on external committees, contributes to grant applications and/or identifies outside funding sources.
    • Determine staff training needs, create a formal training protocol for the agency, leads trainings or organize outside subject matter experts to facilitate appropriate training.
    • supervise clinical staff as appropriate.

    Oversight

    • Provides clinical oversight to the organization, ensuring all programs provide quality driven effective, person-centered care.
    • Leads the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements, clinical best practices, and efficient workflows ensuring quality metrics within programs are being met.
    • Chairs the Incident Review Committee.
    • Assists in the design and implementation of corrective action plans to address identified issues as needed.
    • Keeping abreast of upcoming changes to regulatory requirements, provides feedback to State regulatory agencies through committee work.
    • Ensures adequate psychiatric staff coverage for all programs, develops plans for coverage gaps.
    • Provides guidance and support to clinicians dealing with complex cases.
    • Collaborates on technical advancements and resources to optimize care.

    Recruitment, Retention & Staff Development

    • Assists HR department in the recruitment of psychiatrists, PNPs and nurses, helps develop a long-term, sustainable recruitment strategy.
    • Serves as proctor for PNP interns or assigns other psychiatrist(s) to serve this role.
    • Provides formal supervision on a regular basis for clinical staff and nurses.
    • Identifies opportunities to build staff morale in collaboration with other agency leaders.
    • Devote time to direct clinical care as needed treating clients with behavioral health disorders, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders and Prescribe MAT as needed.
    • Provides crisis intervention and consultation on medical/psychiatric emergencies as appropriate.
