We partner with more than 230 clinics across the region, serving over 260,000 children annually, with a special focus on supporting low-income families.

    Position Summary

ROR GNY seeks a part-time Outreach Coordinator to support the growth and success of our program by engaging new clinical sites, guiding them through the application and onboarding process, and ensuring that participating physicians receive program training.

This role is ideal for a highly organized, and relationship-driven professional with experience in outreach, healthcare, or early literacy initiatives. The position combines remote work with approximately 50% fieldwork across the Greater New York area to meet with clinics and providers.

    • Support clinics in completing and submitting applications, including those already in progress.
    • Guide new sites through onboarding, system setup, and program implementation expectations.
    • Provide orientation and training support for clinical staff on program processes and goals.
    • Monitor provider training completion and follow up to ensure compliance.
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of outreach, applications, and onboarding progress.
    • Coordinate with Reach Out and Read National to transition approved applications from “Complete – Awaiting Approval” to “Active” by the first of each month.
    • Collaborate closely with ROR GNY leadership to ensure smooth integration of new sites into the network.
    • Respond to questions about self-funded site fees and other program details.
    • Expand outreach to health systems and new clinics entering the application pipeline.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, social work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 5+ years of professional experience in outreach, community engagement, healthcare, or nonprofit program coordination.
    • Bilingual proficiency preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
    • Self-starter who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
    • Familiarity with healthcare systems, pediatric practices, or literacy/education programs preferred.
    • Comfortable working remotely with proficiency in Zoom and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
    • Willingness to travel regularly for approximately 50% of work time to conduct in-person site visits, meetings, and outreach across the Greater New York area.
