    ABOUT IMAGES CINEMA

    One of the few remaining single-screen, independent theaters still in operation, Images Cinema is an historic part of the Northern Berkshires offering an exceptional variety of independent, foreign and classic films year-round. Images Cinema was an early pioneer in creating Berkshire County’s reputation for world-class culture and not many small communities can boast the sophistication to support this legendary cinema. Images Cinema is a 501c3 nonprofit, and is dedicated to exploring film as an art form, a source of entertainment, and a means to build community.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Marketing & Outreach Lead is a key member of the management team at Images — cultivating the community toward participating in a thriving and vibrant organization, and fostering a place of belonging and joy. They ensure that all programming reaches and serves our diverse community, increasing engagement and enthusiasm, ensuring earned income revenue goals are met.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

    The Marketing & Outreach Lead reports directly to the Executive Director.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • MARKETING & OUTREACH (12-15 hours per week)
      • Serve as the primary on promotional communications
        • Write twice-weekly email newsletter.
        • Create promotional materials, including weekly flyers and film/event posters.
        • Support social media identity on various platforms.
        • Create print ads for various publications.
        • Write and distribute press releases for special events and series
      • Maintain website with film, event and art show information, including times and descriptions.
      • Manage advertising budget and ensure desired ROI is met.
      • Work with contract designer(s) to produce and distribute materials for festivals, series, and other special programs.
      • Ensure marketing & outreach efforts meet earned income, attendance, and engagement goals, with support from Executive Director.
      • Maintain a posting schedule and distribution list to calendars, blogs, and other places to promote new and classic film programming presented by Images Cinema.
      • Oversee design, production, and fulfillment of merchandise, i.e. t-shirts, hats, etc.
      • Build partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, cultural groups, schools, and other organizations.
    • SPONSORSHIP + FUNDRAISING (3-5 hours per week)
      • Manage execution of in-theater underwriting program, including the scheduling and creation of onscreen ads.
        • Manage and track underwriting revenue goals.
      • Create and maintain materials for the annual appeal and membership drives, in collaboration with Box Office & Membership Manager and Executive Director.
      • Work with Executive Director to prepare grant, sponsorship and contribution proposals and final reporting.
        • Inclusive of festivals and ongoing series.
    • GENERAL SUPPORT
      • Fulfill other tasks and projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

    TIME COMMITMENT

    This is a part-time, 15-20 hrs/wk position. Images Cinema’s normal office hours are Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm, and this position is expected to maintain some availability during that time to allow for coordinating with theater management and external parties. Nights and weekends are expected to attend staff and committee meetings, as well as special events and community programs. This can be either an in-person or partially hybrid position, some flexibility is available for working from home.

    COMPENSATION

    This is an hourly position with a pay rate of $20/hr. This position is open to periodic review for the opportunity to receive additional pay, duties, responsibilities, and title change as appropriate and as performance warrants.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Competitive candidates will have design and copywriting experience with web, social, and print applications and platforms. 1 year minimum experience necessary, 3+ years of experience preferred. Experience with film and/or arts organizations is a plus.
