    Description

    ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

Edesia is a non-profit social enterprise on a mission to end global malnutrition. We manufacture and distribute life-saving, ready-to-use therapeutic foods—such as Plumpy’Nut and Nutributter—to treat and prevent malnutrition among children and mothers in the world’s most vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities. Through strong partnerships with leading humanitarian organizations, NGOs, and Ministries of Health, we ensure our products reach those who need them most—even in the midst of the most complex and challenging humanitarian emergencies.

    JOB SUMMARY:

Edesia seeks a strategic and relationship-focused NGO Partnerships Officer to play an essential role in our direct-to-NGO sales, marketing, and partnership development efforts. This role is critical to Edesia's growth strategy as we expand our direct distribution and logistics/delivery model in response to the evolving global humanitarian aid funding landscape and the need for more direct partnerships with implementing NGOs. All of this is in service of Edesia’s mission to eradicate malnutrition for young children.

The NGO Partnerships Officer will serve as the primary point of contact for a target group of NGO customers, building and maintaining relationships with organizations working to treat and prevent acute malnutrition, and respond to disasters, in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and other priority regions. This position combines business development, customer service excellence, and operational coordination to ensure seamless NGO customer and partnership experiences from initial engagement through order fulfillment.

The position will also support the work of multiple senior management roles focused on building new opportunities to expand distribution of Edesia’s life-saving foods through coalition building and leadership in malnutrition treatment, prevention, research, and innovation.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    Direct NGO Partnership Development (50%)

    • Identify, cultivate, and expand direct procurement opportunities with a targeted group of NGOs with malnutrition treatment and prevention programs, focusing on Africa and the Middle East.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with country and program directors, procurement officers, and nutrition leads at target NGOs.
    • Prepare proposals, quotations, and partnership agreements/sales orders in collaboration with the planning, operations, and logistics teams.
    • Track sales pipeline, prepare forecasts, and report on partnership development metrics.
    • Administer the logistics of Gift-in-Kind product donations to NGOs, including product that is funded via grants and philanthropic gifts. Ensure NGO donation agreements are completed and compliance with reporting requirements.

Customer Service & Order Fulfillment Coordination (20%)

    • Serve as primary point of contact for NGO customers throughout the order lifecycle.
    • Coordinate internally with production, quality assurance, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and billing/payment.
    • Manage all inbound products and customer inquiries.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve sales/customer issues with urgency and professionalism
    • Maintain accurate customer records and documentation in Sales Force.
    • Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address concerns.
    • Facilitate effective communication and smooth handoffs at different stages of the sales and order fulfillment process between the customer and sales, planning, logistics, and finance/billing teams.

Marketing and Education Programming for NGO Partners (15%)

    • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to raise Edesia's profile among potential NGO partners, including email campaigns and social media engagement focused on NGO audiences.
    • Create and maintain product, partnerships, and marketing materials including case studies, product information sheets, and presentation decks.
    • Build website content and tools targeted at NGO partners.
    • Coordinate webinars and other educational initiatives for NGO partners.
    • Collaborate with communications team to highlight partnership success stories.

Order Fulfillment/Logistics Support for Strategic Priorities (15%)

    • Preparation of Pricing Committee presentations for management discussions on RFP response strategies for major NGO and US government/UN partners.
    • Provide order fulfillment and logistics support for senior managers leading NGO coalitions and Innovation Fund projects.
    • Support order fulfillment, logistics support, and proposal development for the fundraising team related to donor funded product donations and projects.
    • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and special projects as assigned.

    • Experience in the global humanitarian aid, nutrition, food security, and/or global health sectors.
    • 4-6 years of progressive experience in sales, business development, partnership management, or related roles in international humanitarian aid.
