The Data & Business Systems Analyst will be integral to advancing the organization's data analysis and systems capabilities. This dynamic role involves combining analytical expertise with system management to ensure data integrity and inform strategic decisions within a nonprofit setting.

Key responsibilities include:
- System Management and Optimization: Take ownership of core organizational systems (primarily Salesforce), focusing on administration, configuration, and ensuring they effectively meet operational needs.
- Data Quality, Reporting, and Analysis: Uphold rigorous data quality standards, implementing processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of all organizational data. Provide accurate, timely reporting and sophisticated data analysis to support management decision-making and operational goals.
- Measurement and Evaluation Support: Collaborate with program teams to support measurement and evaluation initiatives, translating data into actionable insights regarding program effectiveness and impact.
This position is ideal for a professional with several years of experience who is ready to take ownership of both data analysis and business systems to support strategic and operational goals in a nonprofit environment.
JOB LOCATION: This position can be based in either Washington, DC, or Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
System Management and Optimization
- Support HOA’s systems including Microsoft Office365, Salesforce, Smartsheet, Mailchimp, and others as required, serving as main POC for system functionality, and user support.
- Assist with training users on new features and best practices and act as a support resource for their questions.
- Evaluate current business processes, gather user requirements, and recommend improved processes or systems enhancements to support the business.
- Create detailed system specifications, user manuals, and other documentation.
- Set up workflows, validation rules, and processes to automate tasks and increase efficiency.
- Connect Salesforce with other applications to extend its functionality.
- Develop and execute test plans and test scenarios to ensure that new systems and enhancements meet business requirements.
- Keep current on new features, tools, and updates to help ensure optimization and efficient use of HOA systems.
- Work with third-party software vendors to ensure that solutions meet the company's functional needs.
Data Quality, Reporting & Analysis
- Create reports and dashboards: Build custom reports and dashboards to help users visualize data, track performance, and make data-driven decisions.
- Manage and analyze data, ensure data integrity in Salesforce and other systems.
- Identify and correct data inconsistencies, errors, missing values, and duplicates.
- Maintain clear documentation for all data and reporting processes.
- Measurement and Evaluation
- Oversee HOA application and survey collection process including the impact survey, volunteer survey and others as required.
- Ensure surveys are distributed and collected to achieve target survey completion rates.
- Analyze survey data and report results.
- Assist with the creation of HOA and program impact reports.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to the survey collection process, survey instruments, and tools.
Other duties as assigned.
- Provide onsite project support for HOA transformation and resource distribution projects, serving as a volunteer team leader on event days.
- Support other projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or a related role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI) to analyze trends and outcomes.
- Experience with Salesforce Administration, Smartsheet.
- Proven project management track record: can establish priorities, work independently, meet strict deadlines, and proceed with objectives without close supervision

- Ability to get along well with diverse personalities and interact with people at different levels within an organization with tact, flexibility and discretion
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an SUV or mini-van.
