We serve thousands of individuals each year helping the provide help, hope and better help to children and adults throughout the state of New Jersey.
Reports Directly To: Senior Manager: Patient Education and Support Services
About the Diabetes Educator Role: The Diabetes Foundation is dedicated to helping children and adults who are at risk of developing diabetes to those who are living with Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. You will work directly with our participants to educate them about the important aspects of self-care related to diabetes management from physical activity and healthy eating, to monitoring and medication management. You will work with a small team of our staff and educators to deliver education to communities and individuals throughout the state of New Jersey – both in person and virtually. The hours vary up to 10 hours weekly.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
May perform MNT intervention and education (in person or virtually) if person is a registered dietitian.
Promote diabetes-related best practices within public spheres to boost well-being.
May be asked to collaborate with other educators and support our other education classes.
Able to attend quarterly meetings
Able to participate in bimonthly or monthly meetings with senior manager
