    Job Title: Individual Giving Director

    Classification: Full-Time

    Department: Development

    Reports to: Chief Development Officer

    Salary: $70,000

    Purpose of Role: The Individual Giving Director will create and implement the overall strategy for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual donors to meet the organization’s revenue goals. They should be comfortable interacting with donors, prospects, and key stakeholders.

    Individual Accountabilities

    • Plan and lead the execution of an individual giving strategy and the annual appeal.
    • Manage and maintain a portfolio of annual donors ($9,999 and under) for renewed and increased support through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
    • Collaborate on fundraising requests with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
    • Collaborate with staff leadership to develop a comprehensive stewardship and moves management plan.
    • Build donor relationships through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activity.
    • Engage donors through email outreach, handwritten communication, and phone calls.
    • Prepare donor profiles, materials, and talking points for donor meetings.
    • Oversee and implement the year-end Annual Appeal campaign in coordination with Marketing & Communications.
    • Work closely with the Board of Directors to support individual giving strategies and cultivation of networks.
    • Liaise and provide support for donor-hosted small gatherings or events (e.g., board salon meetings)
    • Maintain accurate donor records and data integrity in Salesforce.
    • Contribute to weekly and monthly team meetings and reporting.
    • Assist with other projects as assigned.

    • Donor relationships are deepened and sustained.
    • Individual giving strategies are fully implemented across the organization with active engagement from staff leadership and board members.

    • Collaborate with staff leadership to align solicitation strategy, donor meetings, messaging, and project management.
    • Support board-related activities within the development department.
    • Collaborate with Development and Program teams with donor cultivation (e.g., program site visits, small gatherings, stewardship touches)

    Key Capabilities and Leadership Behaviors

    • 3+ years of professional fundraising experience.
    • Direct experience with personal, one-on-one cultivation and solicitation of individual donors preferred.
    • Understanding and commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of WITS.
    • A desire to adapt and grow.
    • A self-starter and finisher who can see a plan from conception to completion.
    • Ability to give directions and synthesize information from multiple individuals.
    • Agile working style and willingness to adapt.
    • A strong ability to develop compelling and grammatically accurate written communication across various mediums.
    • Team player and team builder.
    • Strong ability to work independently and identify specific steps to accomplish goals.

    Skills and Experience Required

    • Interest and desire to learn how to become an impactful development professional.
    • Organizational and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously and efficiently.
    • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn new digital tools.
    • Effectively manage a close-knit company culture while achieving key success indicators.

    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to bend, squat, and climb stairs daily.
    • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
