We train exceptional teachers, empower families, and deliver high-quality early learning experiences centered in equity, inclusion, and social justice. Founded in 2019, our work spans New York State, uplifting historically marginalized communities and advancing systemic change in early childhood education.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a passionate, bilingual (Spanish/English) Community Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator to lead engagement, recruitment & partnership building. This role merges grassroots outreach with strategic social media coordination to amplify DAY ONE’s mission, ensure our programs are accessible and inclusive, and reflect the voices of the communities we serve. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Workforce Initiatives, this role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, cultural responsiveness, and a deep commitment to equity.

    Core Responsibilities

    Community Engagement & Recruitment

    • Serve as an ambassador for DAY ONE, building trust and visibility through in-person outreach, events, and partnerships.
    • Lead recruitment strategies for programs, prioritizing diverse and underserved populations, including the Teacher Apprenticeship Pathway (TAP) program and Early Learning Center.
    • Cultivate relationships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to expand reach.

    Event Coordination

    • Plan and support inclusive, culturally responsive community and family events.
    • Facilitate weekly parent group meetings and monthly small business support gatherings.

    Administrative Support

    • Maintain accurate records of community engagement and family facing programmatic activities.
    • Contribute to program evaluation and reporting.

    Qualifications

    • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
    • Experience in outreach, community engagement, recruitment, and program management.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
