LCFA is on a vital mission to improve lung cancer survival through research, education, and advocacy. We're seeking an exceptional professional to support our Marketing and Development teams, with a focus on email marketing strategy and execution, while providing essential administrative and operational support to keep our organization running smoothly.
We are a small organization, so everyone is called on to pitch in all kinds of ways. You will be collaborating with the entire team. This is an entry-level position with significant growth potential as Lung Cancer Foundation of America (LCFA) expands its marketing and fundraising efforts. This position reports directly to the Director of Digital Strategy.
Your Daily Adventures Will Include:
Email Marketing
- Own the strategy, planning, creation, and execution of email marketing campaigns for fundraising appeals, awareness initiatives, event promotions, and donor stewardship.
- Manage email lists, segmentation, and audience targeting to maximize engagement and deliverability.
- Write compelling email copy that aligns with LCFA's brand voice and resonates with diverse audiences, including donors, patients, caregivers, and researchers.
- Design email templates and ensure consistent branding across all communications.
- Develop, document, and maintain email marketing processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure consistency and support team knowledge transfer.
- Track and analyze email performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and provide regular reports with recommendations for optimization.
- Manage email calendar and coordinate timing with broader marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with email marketing best practices and regulations (CAN-SPAM, accessibility standards).
Marketing Support
- Assist with content creation for social media, website, and other digital channels as needed.
- Support marketing campaigns for key awareness periods including World Lung Cancer Day and Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
- Help maintain and update website content.
- Coordinate with external vendors and communications partners on marketing projects.
- Assist with the production and distribution of marketing materials.
- Track and improve performance metrics.
Development Support
- Help find and expand the donor base through targeted outreach and acquisition tactics.
- Support donor relations and stewardship communications including acknowledgment letters, emails, newsletters, and campaign updates.
- Support Development team with grant proposal research, writing, tracking, and submission.
- Craft personalized donor communications.
- P2P Fundraising: Spearhead peer-to-peer fundraising campaign execution and donor outreach initiatives.
- Help maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database.
- Support planning and promotion of fundraising events and campaigns.
Administration & Operations
- Provide administrative support to the Marketing and Development teams including scheduling, correspondence, and project coordination.
- Assist with general office operations and organizational tasks as needed.
- Help maintain organized files, records, and documentation.
- Support cross-functional projects and initiatives across the organization.
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS or Associate's Degree, or at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. We recognize the value of diverse experiences that allow for impactful careers without formal degrees.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, or similar).
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Understanding of email marketing best practices including segmentation, A/B testing, and analytics.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Remote work experience with a dedicated home office setup and reliable internet.
- Strong team-oriented mindset with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Ability to take initiative and proactively drive work forward.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with nonprofits in a fundraising or marketing role.
- Adobe Creative Suite/Canva proficiency.
- Database or CRM expertise.
- Healthcare sector knowledge.
- Virtual event management experience.
- Data analysis skills.
