    Description

    Overview

Generation Citizen (GC) is working to transform civics education so that young people are equipped and inspired to exercise their civic power. We are seeking an experienced sales and pricing consultant or firm to build a comprehensive sales strategy, including formalized service packages and a tiered pricing model, for our evolved program offerings.

GC is currently looking to add an additional asynchronous digital program component for teachers, as well as customized consulting in curriculum, professional development (PD), and standards development to school districts and state governments. A recent program review recommended developing three tiered support packages that blend our core services with these new digital and consultative options.

To effectively launch these new offerings and ensure financial sustainability in an environment of anticipated funding cuts, we require external expertise to formalize the packages, establish a clear and competitive pricing strategy, and codify the sales process for our staff. This engagement is critical to enabling GC to expand its reach and impact by meeting the varying needs of our school and district partners with customized, yet standardized, services.

    About Generation Citizen

Generation Citizen’s (GC) mission is to transform civics education so that young people are equipped and inspired to exercise their civic power. We envision a world with a just, inclusive democracy that is responsive to all young people. GC champions real-world democracy education that equips all young people with the skills and knowledge needed to understand systems of oppression and effect change.

In the past 15 years, GC has built a project-based action civics program for middle school and high school students with high-quality teacher professional development (PD), coaching, and curriculum that serves over 30,000 students per year nationally. We also lead coalitions to pass legislation and shape educational standards to make project-based civics available to millions of students annually. We operate in over 11 states currently and are continuing to expand our footprint.

Scope of Services & Expected Deliverables

Generation Citizen seeks a consultant with experience in educational product development, marketing and sales strategies to execute this project. The maximum budget for this project is $50,000.

Expected deliverables for the engagement include:

    • Tiered Service Packages Defined: Finalized content for the three tiered packages , clearly detailing all inclusions from program offerings for each tier.
    • Pricing Strategy and Models: A recommended pricing strategy for each of the three service tiers, supported by market analysis, and a final price point or range for each package. Price point should take into account various factors including size of district and multi year commitments.
    • Sales Collateral Development: Creation of key sales collateral (e.g., one-pagers, brochures) to support the outreach and engagement of the new packages.
    • Sales Process Codification: A codified, step-by-step sales process, to support staff in partnership development with the new tiers
    • Staff Training Plan: A clear plan and materials for training regional staff on the new sales process, package differentiation, and pricing.

    Project Timeline

The maximum budget for this project is $45,000, and we anticipate it will start in January 2026 and conclude by March 2026.

A successful partner for GC on this project will:

    • Have a proven track record in supporting mission-driven organizations to strengthen and refine their service offerings and pricing.
    • Possess strong expertise in developing pricing strategies and sales processes, with experience in the policy and educational environment preferred.
    • Demonstrate the ability to customize material to the requirements of different audiences, particularly taking into account geographic and political differences.
