    Description

    Day Eight is an arts producer and publisher dedicated to the healing of the world through the arts. Our programs include a literary magazine, poetry events, exhibitions, performances, book publishing, and an arts journalism program.     Position Details and Responsibilities:

    This is a part time, 12-20 hours per week staff position, paid at a rate of $21-25.00/hr., that supports delivery of education projects and programs. The individual will function as a core member of the education team.

    60% Time – Education Programs Coordinator. The incumbent will administrate Day Eight’s education programs. Day Eight’s education programs include an after-school program, poetry-in-the-schools program, in-school poetry performance, summer writing camp, women and girls writing program, and more. The role schedules and tracks service, monitors and documents service to ensure requirements are met and procedures followed, interfaces with providers and schools, and assists with evaluation and marketing. The role collaborates with all members of Day Eight’s education team including the program director, service providers, schools, funders, and volunteers.

    20% Time – Youth Program Service. This role serves as rehearsal director and stage manager for Day Eight’s in-school poetry performance. The role attends all rehearsals and performances of the show. Rehearsals occur Tuesday and Thursday evenings in January and 15 performances are planned for February 2026. The incumbent will also support design and development of curriculum.

    20% Time – Additional Projects. The incumbent will expand Day Eight’s capacity, assisting with fundraising and marketing initiatives and new programs.

    The position will work a set weekly schedule of hours between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and will also be required to regularly work daytime, night, and weekend events as a member of the Day Eight team. Day Eight is currently still working via remote. Payment will be made every two weeks by direct deposit. No benefits are provided for this position.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated capacity as a non-profit program administrator
    • Solid written and verbal communication
    • Experience taking responsibility for work products individually and as a member of a team
    • Demonstrated interest in a career in arts administration or arts education
