    About the Project Coordinator position: Legal Momentum is hiring a Project Coordinator to support the Legal Department in achieving Survivors Employed programmatic goals. The Project Coordinator will provide administrative and programmatic support and manage grant-related obligations for our Survivors Employed project, which assists survivors of gender-based violence with employment related matters.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong, demonstrated commitment to gender equality and women’s rights, along with an understanding of nonprofit operations. We’re seeking someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    This position is based in our New York City office and follows a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of two in-office days per week, including Tuesdays.

    Responsibilities

    • Support day-to-day operations of the Survivors Employed project which assists survivors of gender-based violence with discrimination claims, including:
      • coordinating intake and the Provider Network, handling referrals, providing administrative support, interacting with agencies, and providing litigation support.
      • Managing inquiries and referrals from program partners and liaising with partners and clients
    • Manage state and federal grant funding reporting and compliance, including programmatic reporting and financial obligations.
    • Provide support for grant applications and renewals .
    • Draft activity/progress reports for board of directors, funders and others.
    • Assisting with outreach efforts.
    • Assist with new resources and maintain Legal Dept records including case dockets, subject matter files and library.
    • Other tasks as assigned which further the Legal Dept and organization’s mission and goals.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) and at least two years’ work experience.
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
    • Highly organized and able to manage a multitude of diverse tasks with attention to deadlines and detail.
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom and other video conferencing platforms. Experience with Drupal, Adobe InDesign and/or Canva a plus.
    • Experience with grant management, compliance and reporting, including experience with grant portals (like JustGrants, SFS, etc.)
    • Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
    • Proficiency in internet research; familiarity with Lexis/Westlaw legal research a plus.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with people from a broad range of backgrounds and people who have experienced trauma.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and dedication to women’s rights and gender equality issues and public interest organizations.
