    Description

    The Visual Content & Design Associate is responsible for executing the visual identity of Mercado Global across digital and print channels. This role ensures brand consistency and produces high-quality creative assets for marketing, sales, and fundraising initiatives.

    This part-time role is essential in supporting the organization’s growing design needs while maintaining a cohesive brand presence.

    Key Responsibilities

    Creative Visual Design

    • Develop and execute all visual communication materials for print, digital, and social platforms.
    • Design engaging e-blasts and email campaigns using Klaviyo (or similar platforms).
    • Use AI tools (Adobe AI features, Canva AI, etc.) responsibly to support efficient and on-brand content creation.
    • Retouch and edit images for product photography, marketing materials, and social media assets.
    • Create branded Canva templates for internal use, ensuring quick and consistent content creation.
    • Update brand guidelines and related visual documentation.
    • Lead visual identity and graphic concept development for fundraising galas and ensure consistent application across all event collateral.

    Deliverables & Collateral Management (Design Focus)

    • Design materials for fundraising events (invitations, e-blasts, banners, programs, menus, and other assets).
    • Ensure all creative files (editable and final) are properly organized in Canva and Box.
    • Provide all deliverables, including PDFs, source files, and links.
    • Keep line sheets and brand one-pagers updated to support sales growth.
    • Collaborate on design and layout for Mercado Global’s Annual Report.
    • Convert final creative assets into Canva versions for ongoing internal updates.

    Key Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years of professional experience in visual design or graphic production.
    • Excellent professional communication skills in English.
    • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Foundational knowledge of HTML and CSS.
    • Ability to commit to the role for at least two years.
    • Deep enthusiasm for Mercado Global’s mission and social impact work.

    Preferred

    • Experience producing design deliverables for fundraising or large-scale events.
    • Experience conducting user research or analyzing design trends.
    • Experience in layout design for reports or publications.
