    Description

    Greenwich United Way, in partnership with local community-based organizations and Greenwich Public Schools, is currently seeking a part-time/temporary hire with the following minimum qualifications for this full-time position:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary

    Education; Master’s preferred

    • Five years minimum of successful teaching experience
    • Familiarity with national, state, and local curriculum standards and frameworks
    • Demonstrated experience in using research-based instructional strategies
    • Knowledge and experience in early childhood education, pedagogy, and assessment (including data analysis), and research-based best practices
    • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theories
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with others
    • Commitment to the success of all students

    The following are the major responsibilities of the Instructional Coach who will work with the teaching staff at local pre-schools:

    • Coaches and supports teachers in the implementation of effective research-based practices
    • Co-teaches and/or models lessons for individual teachers or small groups of teachers
    • Demonstrates and models instructional strategies
    • Supports teachers in the design of lessons and activities
    • Provides data analysis support to teachers
    • Conducts classroom observations and provides feedback to teachers
    • Works collaboratively with school instructional leaders to encourage sharing of best practices
    • Supports new and veteran teachers
    • Other duties as may be assigned by management
