Greenwich United Way, in partnership with local community-based organizations and Greenwich Public Schools, is currently seeking a part-time/temporary hire with the following minimum qualifications for this full-time position:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary
Education; Master’s preferred
- Five years minimum of successful teaching experience
- Familiarity with national, state, and local curriculum standards and frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in using research-based instructional strategies
- Knowledge and experience in early childhood education, pedagogy, and assessment (including data analysis), and research-based best practices
- Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theories
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others
- Commitment to the success of all students
The following are the major responsibilities of the Instructional Coach who will work with the teaching staff at local pre-schools:
- Coaches and supports teachers in the implementation of effective research-based practices
- Co-teaches and/or models lessons for individual teachers or small groups of teachers
- Demonstrates and models instructional strategies
- Supports teachers in the design of lessons and activities
- Provides data analysis support to teachers
- Conducts classroom observations and provides feedback to teachers
- Works collaboratively with school instructional leaders to encourage sharing of best practices
- Supports new and veteran teachers
- Other duties as may be assigned by management
