    Job Type: Part-time (20-25 hours per week) with potential to grow into full-time

    Compensation: From $20 - $22 per hour

    Murray Grove is a nonprofit and historic Unitarian Universalist retreat center rooted in radical hospitality and inclusivity. Located on the beautiful Jersey Shore, we offer space for personal and group retreats, social justice programming, youth and family events, weddings, family reunions, concerts, and more. As the birthplace of Universalism in America, our mission is to keep this legacy alive.

    Position Overview:

    The Development Associate will work closely with the Executive Director and Development Committee to support fundraising efforts and donor engagement. This role is essential to the long-term sustainability and growth of Murray Grove’s mission, helping ensure we can continue offering life-changing experiences to individuals and communities. Because we are a small, mission-driven team, this position will also involve general office support responsibilities.

    Responsibilities:

      • Seek out grant opportunities
      • Write grant applications
      • Assist with donor database management
      • Process donations and prepare timely thank-you letters
      • Help coordinate fundraising campaigns and special appeals
      • Maintain and update donor records and mailing lists
      • Support planning and logistics for fundraising events and community engagement initiatives
      • Conduct research on prospective donors, grants, and funding opportunities
      • Assist in creating donor newsletters and other development-related communications
      • Assist the Executive Director and other staff with day-to-day operational tasks as needed

    Qualifications:

      • Passion for nonprofit work and commitment to Murray Grove’s values of inclusion and justice
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
      • Experience with donor databases and CRM systems preferred
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
