    • Schedule: In-person meetings and on-site presence for events during some weekdays, evenings, and weekends will be required.
    • Location: Hybrid/Flexible. Must be able to commute to BKCM offices regularly.

    Position Summary

    The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music is seeking a full-time Marketing & Communications Associate to join our dynamic and growing marketing team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, creative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

    BKCM is at a pivotal moment of growth, with a major campus expansion expected in the fall of 2026. The Marketing Associate supports BKCM’s expanding marketing presence and will play an active role in driving class enrollment and building demand for our programs. This position helps shape and deliver clear, compelling messaging that increases visibility across education, performance, and community initiatives, while remaining aligned with organizational goals. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating content, writing, managing online platforms, supporting musical and cultural events, and contributing to a mission-driven, collaborative team.

    The Marketing Associate is a full-time position reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager. The Associate will also help oversee project assignments for contractors and freelance vendors in some aspects of the job, and will work collaboratively with staff and faculty in the execution of all tasks.

    This role requires flexibility to work in-person on some nights and weekends, with a $55,000-$65,000 salary range, plus medical, dental, vision, 403(b)/retirement plan, and auxiliary insurance benefits, and paid time off.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Ensure accuracy and clarity of communications, as well as consistency and alignment with key organizational and marketing objectives
    • Manage and publish content across BKCM’s website, ensuring pages stay accurate, up to date, and user-friendly.
    • Oversee the social media calendar for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn and create posts with an eye toward storytelling and audience engagement.
    • Attend BKCM musical and cultural events, capture content for BKCM’s platforms, and support the team with day-of needs at events
    • Assist in building and managing email campaigns in Mailchimp, maintaining schedules and ensuring strong list hygiene and segmentation practices.
    • Maintain and update existing event-listing and media contact lists.
    • Help track and compile monthly marketing metrics and insights.
    • Provide communications support to other departments as needed.
    • Serve as a brand steward, upholding BKCM’s standards and voice across all materials.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the team and organization.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree or certification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
    • 2+ years of experience working in a similar or related position, non-profit experience preferred
    • Excellent writing and editing/proofing abilities (one writing sample required)
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Some experience using Google Workspace, Mailchimp or similar platform, WordPress or similar platform, and social media platforms
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

    Preferred

    • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multitask and set priorities within tight timelines and work with multiple stakeholders
    • Comfortable and adept at working in a hybrid environment
    • Experience in the nonprofit sector and/or the arts
