    Job Title: Group Leader

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

    Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour

    Position Summary:

    CCM is seeking dedicated and energetic Group Leaders to join our after-school program team! As a Group Leader, you will facilitate engaging activities in sports and physical recreation, while creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for our scholars.

    The ideal sports candidate should be familiar with and able to teach or support volleyball or soccer. Basketball skills are also a plus. You will work closely with Counselors, Educational Specialists, and Program Directors to connect after-school learning to real-world experiences through trips, creative projects, and hands-on lessons.

    For grades 6–8, prior experience working with that age group is preferred.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement age-appropriate sports and recreation lesson plans and activities.
    • Supervise and actively engage students during program hours.
    • Provide homework help and academic support.
    • Promote positive behavior and implement disciplinary strategies when needed.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and effective daily program operation.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: Minimum 2 years working in an after-school program (Required)
    • Lesson Planning Experience: (Required)
    • Language: Bilingual in Spanish (Required)
    • Commute: Must be able to reliably commute to New York, NY 10033 (Required)
    • Availability: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, plus select holidays
    • Education: High School Diploma (Required)

    Preferred Skills & Experience:

    • Background in education, childcare, youth programs, or physical education
    • Knowledge of youth development or early adolescent education principles
    • Ability to design fun, educational, and inclusive sports and recreation activities
    • Strong communication, classroom management, and teamwork skills
    • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
    • Experience or skills in volleyball, soccer, or basketball highly preferred
