    Description

    UJA-Federation of New York is the largest local philanthropy in the world, distributing nearly $400 million annually across more than 1,200 grants. Grantmaking at UJA is a collaborative, data-informed process that brings together lay leadership and professional expertise to guide decision-making and oversight.

    As UJA completes the integration of its grants and finance systems through Salesforce, this new role offers a unique opportunity to strengthen how financial investments connect to program outcomes. The Director, Grant Financial Analytics will design and implement finance-based metrics that measure and communicate the relationship between funding and impact across grant portfolios.

    Working collaboratively with planning professionals, lay leaders, CPER Operations, and the Digital Data and Insights team, this role will build, refine, and integrate a unified framework that links financial performance, program results, and organizational strategy. The Director will also create clear, compelling visuals and dashboards to share insights internally and externally, ensuring that data meaningfully informs grantmaking and strategic decisions in service of UJA’s mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage the process of creating a system of best-in-class financial
    • measurement and impact assessment.
    • Translate the results of impact evaluations into actionable learnings and insights
    • that will be shared with lay leaders and the community.
    • Improve the data collection efforts alongside the Operations and Data teams and
    • contribute new ideas towards refining and expanding the existing data collection frameworks.
    • Assist colleagues in the Planning Division in setting measurable goals and
    • monitoring progress against them.
    • Partner with CPER Operations and the Data and Insights teams to implement
    • automated financial dashboards and reporting systems that integrate program, grants, and financial data across Salesforce and related platforms, and standardize financial and impact KPIs for consistent organizational reporting.

    Qualifications

    • At least 8 years of professional work experience and 3-5 years of relevant financial
    • and measurement experience
    • Bachelor’s degree required, preference for at least a Master’s degree in a relevant
    • field
    • Hands-on experience leading the planning and execution of financial impact
    • evaluations, as well as applying a variety of qualitative and quantitative evaluation techniques
    • Proven experience with financial modeling, forecasting, or scenario analysis in a
    • mission-driven context. Experience translating financial data into strategic recommendations and board-level presentations.
    • Strong experience demonstrating the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and
    • complex organizational environment. This includes a track-record of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and collegiality while moving quickly to meeting multiple deadlines and achieve results.
    • Able to work independently while also proactively keeping colleagues and
    • stakeholders informed of progress
    • Engages and works collaboratively; able to effectively deal with ambiguity, and
    • respond to issues with diplomacy
    • Ability to make executive decisions while operating with a high degree of respect for
    • professional colleagues and lay leadership

    Benefits

    Salary:

    The salary for this position is $125,00 - $145,000 annually.

    We offer a generous number of vacation days and have the Jewish holidays off as well. Fridays our offices close early (October to March at 3:00 pm and April to September at 4:00 pm). All so you can relax and recharge.
