About The Role: ( Hiring with an as soon as possible start date)
One Fair Wage (OFW) is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven organizer to lead the expansion of the High Road Restaurants program in Colorado, supporting restaurants to raise wages, improve working conditions, and adopt equitable employment practices.
The primary focus of this role is recruiting, onboarding, and supporting Colorado restaurants to join the High Road Restaurants network. This includes providing technical assistance, conducting outreach, hosting events, coordinating press opportunities, and building strong relationships with owners, operators, and workers.
A secondary component of the role involves supporting worker organizing, including helping connect restaurant workers to OFW campaigns, training opportunities, and policy advocacy efforts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Restaurant Outreach & Recruitment (Primary )
- Identify, contact, and recruit restaurants to join the High Road Restaurants program.
- Conduct regular in-person visits, phone calls, and digital outreach to restaurant owners, managers, and hospitality leaders.
- Present the High Road model: wage standards, equitable employment practices, and the business case for raising wages.
- Maintain and grow a statewide pipeline of restaurants interested in joining or learning more.
- High Road Technical Assistance & Support
- Help restaurants adopt High Road standards
- Provide 1:1 coaching and resources to owners and managers.
- Coordinate High Road events, roundtables, trainings, and press opportunities locally.
- Gather stories, testimonials, and case studies from owners and workers.
- Worker Organizing & Leadership Development
- Identify and support worker leaders inside High Road and non–High Road restaurants.
- Host listening sessions, worker meetings, and leadership development conversations.
- Support OFW campaigns in Colorado, including ballot and legislative initiatives.
- Document worker stories and connect them to policy advocacy, media, and digital organizing.
Qualifications
Required
- Based in Colorado
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfort speaking with restaurant owners, managers, and workers.
- Experience in organizing, sales, hospitality, or community outreach.
- Self-motivated and able to manage a large outreach pipeline.
Preferred
- Experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
- Experience in worker organizing, community organizing, or advocacy.
- Multilingual (Spanish strongly preferred).
- Understanding of wage issues, tipped workers, labor rights, or economic justice.
💼 Compensation
- Salary range: $50,000–$65,000 depending on experience
