ABOUT SOCAL CAN
The Southern California College Attainment Network (SoCal CAN) is an alliance of over 130 organizations dedicated to increasing college access and completion for underrepresented students through collaboration, advocacy, and direct support. Project SOAR, one of SoCal CAN’s signature programs, empowers students and families living in Los Angeles public housing communities to pursue higher education through personalized guidance and resource navigation.
We are deeply committed to advancing education equity and ensuring that low-income, first-generation, and historically underrepresented students have the opportunity to access, persist, and thrive in college.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Data Systems & Impact Manager will play a critical role in strengthening SoCal CAN and Project SOAR’s ability to collect, manage, and leverage data to improve program effectiveness and communicate impact. This position will lead upgrades to our Salesforce-based case management system, manage and provide tech support for our MemberClicks membership platform, expand automation tools, and support transitions to improved survey and data collection tools. The Manager will also oversee data reporting and visualization, providing thought leadership and problem solving around data collection and impact measurement. This role will be responsible for ensuring that both internal teams and external stakeholders have clear, accurate, and compelling insights into our work.
This is a mid-level, non-supervisory role with both internal-facing and external-facing responsibilities. This role is NOT a Salesforce developer or systems architect position. Instead, it functions as a database and systems administrator focused on improving usability, efficiency, and data quality. The emphasis is on optimizing existing tools, supporting staff through training and documentation, strengthening reporting and dashboards, and translating data into insights for program improvement, funder reporting, and advocacy. The work centers on practical system improvements, thought partnership, and impact interpretation rather than custom code or complex system design. The Data Systems & Impact Manager will be on-boarded and managed by the Deputy Director.
