    Description

    The ACLU of Montana seeks to hire a full-time Paralegal to provide essential legal and administrative support to our legal team. Supervised by the Legal Director, the Paralegal is a key member of the Legal Department and contributes directly to the advancement of ACLU-MT's work by providing critical administrative, litigation, and case-management support across active cases. The finalist must be able to multitask effectively, demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, maintain attention to detail, and communicate clearly.

    Some highlights:

    • Organization Overview: Finalist will join a staff of 11 committed to defending Montanans’ civil rights from government abuse and overreach.
    • Competency and Commitment to Anti-Racism and Anti-Colonialism: Interested candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to building or deepening understanding of race equity, in which racial equity and anti-racism and anti-colonialism are centered.
    • Compensation & Benefits: This position is full-time, exempt, will pay an annual salary between $77,000-$87,000 and comes with excellent benefits.
    • Location: This position will be based in Montana. The Paralegal must live in, or be willing to move to, Montana.

    Benefits

    This position is full-time, exempt, and will pay an annual salary between $77,000 and $87,000, depending on experience. Excellent benefits offered, including health, vision and dental insurance, short and long-term disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan and employer matching, and generous vacation, holiday, sabbatical, and family and medical leave policies. Relocation reimbursements for actual moving expenses are available up to $4,000, contingent on two years’ employment. A monthly reimbursement for personal mobile phone and internet is offered to all ACLU employees. The ACLU of Montana also invests in each staff member’s professional development.

    The position is fully remote, based anywhere in Montana. There is optional access to co-working spaces in select cities. Candidates based in other states must be willing to relocate to Montana within the first three months of start date. All staff are required to meet quarterly for in-person workdays held across the state. ACLU of Montana pays for work related travel expenses, including in-person days.
