    About RLC

    Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to redistributing excess food from businesses to nonprofits serving people experiencing food insecurity. We work alongside our dedicated network of food rescuers and partner with organizations of all sizes and sectors to repurpose surplus ranging from as little as 5 pounds to as much as 500+ pallets. Our mission is to reduce food waste, promote sustainability, and enhance food security. Since RLC was founded in 2013, we’ve rescued over 21+ million pounds of food, prevented 48M+ pounds of emissions, and provided 17M+ meals to communities in need.

    The Position

    We’re looking for a full-time Operations Manager to join our small, founder-led team and continue our impressive growth trajectory. Reporting to the Program Director, the Operations Manager will oversee daily operations, enhance efficiency, and manage outreach to ensure comprehensive food-rescue coverage and stakeholder support.

    Responsibilities

    Operations at Rescuing Leftover Cuisine are designed to inspire community engagement, increase volunteer retention, and create long-term impact and value. Responsibilities will include execution, management, reporting, and optimization of current operations. This role requires a strong desire to be involved in all aspects of operations, including operational design, deployment, and measurement.

    The Operations Manager’s essential duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Monitoring and managing KPIs across the branch operations
    • Proactive ownership of all aspects of food rescue operations
    • Ensure minimum 98+% coverage of pickups by engaging with all food donor partners, current rescuers, rescuer groups, and nonprofit recipient partners
    • Implement changes to the schedules of food donations, optimize food rescue routes, and manage the website calendar of food rescues
    • Actively improve operational efficiency through automation tools, website features, and other new methods
    • Conduct regular check-ins with current food donor and nonprofit recipient partners to solicit feedback, continually streamline our processes, and strengthen our relationships
    • Adept at grasping the big picture, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to long-term strategy and roadmap for operational growth and efficiency
    • Managing RLC’s Cart Program and related equipment, including maintenance and inventory management
    • Assume an organization-wide responsibility of Food Donor Engagement after 60 days of employment
    • Assist the Program Director and other branches as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree & 2+ years of relevant full-time experience
    • Technologically proficient with experience utilizing and maintaining a CRM platform (preferably Salesforce), for a range of functions including but not limited to account management, reporting and analytics, workflow automation, case management, client support, and task management
    • Adaptable and skilled at learning new software and leveraging automation tools
    • Excellent Customer Service skills - effective and clear written and verbal communication
    • Strong Organizational, data entry, and analytical skills
    • Detail oriented problem solver with proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
    • Ability to consult and interact with RLC’s executive team, colleagues, and interns

    Total Compensation

    Salary range for this position is $48,000-52,000
