    Job description:

    AAANY is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Grants & Capacity Building Manager who will manage all fundraising and capacity-building efforts for the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director and the Director of Finance & Operations. The Grant & Capacity Building Manager is responsible for (1) implementing AAANY’s annual fundraising plans, including spearheading fundraising events; (2) ensuring programmatic and fiscal compliance for all grant contracts; and 3) spearheading strategic efforts to increase the capacity of the organization and its staff.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Securing financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations through grant proposals, corporate sponsorship, major donor campaigns, and individual giving;
    • ollaborating with Director of Programs, Director of finance, and frontline staff to prepare and submit all government and foundation grant proposals and grant reports, ensuring full alignment between programmatic goals and fiscal requirements, including:
      • Drafting, gathering, and compiling all fiscal documentation for new grant applications and renewals, including budget narratives, justifications, and financial attachments;
      • Preparing and maintaining comprehensive supporting materials for contracts and financial reports including narratives, work scopes, timesheets, receipts, payroll records, and other backup documentation;
      • Tracking and monitoring all reporting deadlines to ensure the timely submission of required reports, supporting materials, and compliance documents;
      • Assisting in the reconciliation of grant budgets against actual expenditures, ensuring accurate allocations, funder compliance, and adherence to internal financial policies;
      • Maintaining organized grant files (digital and physical);
      • Collaborating with program and development staff to collect and verify data and deliverables for grant reports, ensuring consistency between financial and programmatic reporting; and
      • Creating compelling proposals and report narratives;
    • Conducting prospect research and identifying potential new philanthropic partners;
    • Contributing to the improvement of internal systems for tracking deliverables, payments, and budget-to-actual reporting across multiple funding streams;
    • Support the Executive Director in revenue generation efforts by managing donor follow-ups, preparing materials, and ensuring timely communication with prospects and funder;.
    • Attend donor meetings and fundraising events as assigned, supporting the ED and handling follow-up outreach and ongoing donor engagement;
    • Representing AAANY at stakeholder and funder meetings and citywide events as needed;
    • Leading the planning and management of fundraising events and campaigns, including:
      • Fundraising Gala
      • Giving Tuesday
      • End-of-Year Giving
    • Assist with statement- and testimony-writing and other communications duties; and
    • Other tasks as needed

    Qualifications

    • Strong writing, project management, and organizational skills
    • Familiarity with NYC’s philanthropic and political landscape
    • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit management or development a plus
    • Proficiency in Arabic a plus
