Programs include Outreach, Family Village Shelter, Rapid Re-Housing, Prevention, and Basic Income Guarantee. Annually, Path Home provides culturally competent, trauma-informed services to nearly 600 families.

Path Home believes that intentional, systematic racism and oppression are primary causes of homelessness, and we are working to dismantle systems of oppression within our own organization and the community as a whole. We serve a very diverse group of families, and our goal is to have a staff that reflects the diversity of our families.

    • Translate organizational needs into clear, meaningful volunteer roles
    • Balance flexibility and structure to meet both volunteer and staff needs
    • Identify opportunities for skill-based, group, and community-driven volunteering
    • Develop metrics and feedback loops to understand volunteer impact and experience
    • Contribute to organizational conversations about growth, capacity, and community engagement

    Volunteer Experience & Relationship Building

    • Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, and relationship-centered volunteer culture
    • Recruit, onboard, train, and support volunteers with clarity and care
    • Build strong, ongoing relationships with volunteers rooted in trust and mutual value
    • Ensure volunteer experiences are meaningful, well coordinated and supported
    • Explore opportunities for corporate, group, and community partnerships
    • Ensure volunteers are recognized and appreciated for their contributions
    • Adapt the volunteer program as Path Home evolves

    Staff Partnership & Internal Alignment

    • Collaborate closely with staff across multiple teams to identify needs and co-create volunteer roles
    • Support staff in working effectively with volunteers through training, tools, and consultation
    • Serve as an ambassador for volunteer engagement within the organization

    Operations & Systems

    • Create and maintain clear systems for scheduling, communication, documentation, and evaluation
    • Ensure volunteer policies, procedures, and practices are trauma-informed and equitable
    • Track volunteer participation, engagement, and outcomes
    • Continuously refine systems to reduce friction and increase effectiveness

    Skills and Abilities:

This role requires a proactive, relationship-focused individual who can effectively manage volunteer programs while fostering lasting community connections that advance Path Home’s mission to serve families experiencing homelessness.

    • Mission-Driven & Inspiring: Embody Path Home’s mission, inspiring others to join and stay committed.

    • Commitment to Equity: Understanding of systemic inequities and how they impact marginalized communities, and dedicated to inclusive practices across volunteer engagements.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 2–4 years of experience in volunteer management, community engagement, program coordination, or a related role involving relationship-centered work (paid or equivalent lived/professional experience).
