This position requires an organized, motivated, and dynamic individual with excellent communication and leadership skills and a strong passion for education, injury prevention, and roadway safety.

The Education Outreach Manager is responsible for delivering ITD programs with fidelity, maintaining brand integrity, building partnerships, coordinating events and trainings, and supporting ITD’s mission to end the number one cause of unintentional injury and death for young people—car crashes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Implementation & Outreach

    • Deliver ITD’s evidence-based programs and presentations in schools, community organizations, and public safety settings.
    • Ensure program fidelity, cultural relevance, and consistency with ITD’s messaging and curriculum standards.
    • Provide Train-the-Trainers workshops to educators, first responders, and community health and safety professionals.
    • Engage diverse communities through outreach and education that promote shared roadway responsibility for all roadway users—drivers, passengers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and micromobility users.

    Partnership Development & Coordination

    • Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, public health agencies, first responders, and state or local traffic safety offices.
    • Represent ITD at conferences, outreach events, and professional meetings.
    • Collaborate with partners to identify and implement community engagement opportunities.

    Program Planning & Evaluation

    • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and materials for presentations, workshops, and special projects.
    • Support data collection and reporting for program evaluation and grant compliance.
    • Assist with project documentation, reporting deliverables, and maintaining accurate records of activities.

    Communication & Professional Representation

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned regional or program areas.
    • Communicate program goals, outcomes, and updates effectively with ITD leadership and external partners.
    • Uphold ITD’s brand integrity, ensuring all presentations and materials meet organizational standards.

    Continuous Learning & Development

    • Stay current on evidence-based traffic safety education, countermeasures that work, and behavior change strategies.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance education, facilitation, and outreach skills.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Health, Communications, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in education, public outreach, or program coordination.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
    • Experience working with schools, community groups, or public safety professionals preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Multilingual preferred. Mastery of written and spoken English required.
    • Commitment to ITD’s mission to end reckless and distracted driving and promote shared roadway responsibility.
