    About LEEP

LEEP is an impact-driven, evidence-based nonprofit that aims to eliminate childhood lead poisoning, which affects an estimated one in three children worldwide. We primarily focus on one important source of exposure: lead paint. Our paint programs involve generating data, supporting governments with the introduction and enforcement of regulation, and assisting manufacturers in switching to lead-free paints. Beyond our paint programs, we are piloting interventions to address other sources of lead exposure, such as spices and cosmetics.

Since our founding in September 2020:

    About the Role

LEEP is seeking a strategic and highly organized Chief of Staff to partner with our Program Director and drive operational and strategic excellence across our country programmes. In this role, you will ensure smooth, high-impact delivery by coordinating across teams, surfacing and resolving challenges early, and supporting senior leadership in high-level engagements.

As a trusted collaborator and project leader, you will help LEEP achieve stronger delivery, faster execution, and greater impact across multiple countries. You will work closely with senior leaders, support cross-country performance, and ensure the Program Director is fully prepared for high-level internal and external engagements.

This role offers significant growth opportunities for a mission-driven professional seeking a high-autonomy, high-responsibility position at the intersection of strategy, operations, and programme delivery. You will have the chance to make a measurable difference in program performance while shaping how LEEP delivers impact globally.

    Responsibilities

    Strategic planning and alignment

    • Support the Program Director in annual and quarterly planning processes.
    • Track progress, identify risks, and ensure alignment with LEEP’s mission and priorities.

    Driving operational excellence

    • Monitor delivery, milestones, and bottlenecks across country programmes.
    • Build strong relationships with teams to surface challenges early and unblock issues quickly.
    • Coordinate escalations and rapid issue resolution with relevant teams and senior leadership.
    • Strengthen planning, reporting, and performance management processes to enhance execution.

    Project leadership

    • Independently lead high-priority strategic and operational initiatives for the Program Director.
    • Manage cross-country or cross-team projects requiring tight coordination and clarity.
    • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery with strong ownership and accountability.

    Team coordination

    • Act as a central liaison across Program teams and between Programs and other functions (e.g., Operations, Research).
    • Facilitate smooth communication, decision-making, and alignment across teams.
    • Help maintain cohesion and clarity in a distributed, multicultural program environment.

    Executive support

    • Prepare the Program Director for key internal and external discussions by developing briefs, insights, talking points, and follow-up plans.
    • Represent or accompany the Program Director in meetings, ensuring continuity of priorities and actions.
    • Deputise for the Program Director on select workstreams or engagements when needed.

    External engagement

    • Support relationship management with external partners and key stakeholders.

    Supporting people and fostering culture

    • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and team processes where relevant to Program operations.
    • Support efforts that strengthen collaboration, communication, and engagement within the Program team.
    • Assist with a variety of other tasks across LEEP as and when required

    What We’re Looking For

A successful applicant will possess or be most of the following:

    • Mission-driven: Passion for LEEP’s mission and values, and a strong commitment to achieving meaningful, scalable impact
    • Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments (e.g., project management, consulting, program operations). Proven track record of delivering results, managing broad responsibilities, and supporting senior leadership effectively.
    • Strategic mindset: Able to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and provide thoughtful recommendations to senior leadership to drive program impact.
    • Analytical thinker: Able to quickly understand and analyse complex issues and develop actionable insights.
    • Results-oriented & highly organized: Demonstrates ownership and accountability, manages multiple projects simultaneously, and delivers high-quality outcomes efficiently.
    • Excellent communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
    • Cross-cultural collaboration: Comfortable working across diverse cultures and time zones, demonstrating empathy and cultural sensitivity.
    • Influencer and relationship-builder: Skilled at leading projects or teams, engaging senior stakeholders, building trust, and resolving conflicts diplomatically.
    • Adaptable and growth-oriented: Proactively seeks feedback, learns quickly, and thrives in dynamic, ambiguous environments.
    • Autonomous and reliable: Independently manages tasks and timelines with integrity and professionalism.

Other promising attributes (not required but beneficial): Experience with monitoring and evaluation (M&E), policy advocacy, data analysis, public health or environmental policy, negotiation, or partnership management.

We are most interested in talent, not credentials. If you don’t fit some of the above criteria but think you are a good fit for this role, we’d love to see you apply.
