    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the VP, Development, the Development Associate manages the Family Equality’s CRM and development systems, overseeing internal development and revenue databases. Supporting the Development team, the Development Associate provides tracking, reporting, and data analysis, as well as conducting prospect screening and research. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, with a talent for optimizing systems to streamline workflows, a knack for building processes, and a passion for collaboration.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • CRM Management: Oversee the day-to-day use of Salesforce and GoFundMePro (formerly Classy), serving as Family Equality’s CRM owner/expert, ensuring data accuracy and assisting in troubleshooting for all development stakeholders.
      • Maintenance of donor database, performing systematic cleanup, imports/exports, global updates, attributes, and code table management, as well as routine maintenance when needed.
    • Gift Entry and Acknowledgement: Manage the accurate and timely entry of all gifts including:
      • Maintenance of updated policies and procedures related to donor information collection and gift entry and processing.
      • Preparation of gift receipts and acknowledgement letters.
      • Ensure that donor data is correctly entered and reconciled across all systems (including cross-functional systems with our communications department).
      • Serve as the primary liaison to the business office for gift processing, recording, and reconciliation.
    • Reporting: Create and generate regular reports on fundraising progress, revenue tracking, and donor engagement from Salesforce and other platforms as needed during team meetings for use in forecasting and strategic planning.
      • With the VP, Development and CEO, partner to track major gift prospect engagement, follow-up and next steps, and gift agreements.
    • Prospect Screening and Research: maintain and update wealth screening, identifying new prospective donors for engagement and deliver prospect research briefings for individuals, corporations and foundations as directed by the Development team.
    • Process Improvement: as needed, work with the Development team to establish and execute automated workflows, optimizing the technology tools used to support fundraising efforts.
    • Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance, program, policy, and communications teams to ensure that data is shared and processed accurately for grants, donations, and sponsorships.
      • Reconciliation with the Finance team will be a particular focus of cross-team collaboration.
      • As a member of the Family Equality team, participate in coordinating and implementing special events, both fundraising and non-fundraising, as directed.

    Qualifications

    • An articulated belief in the mission of Family Equality, and the importance of the LGBTQ+ movement
    • 2+ years of experience in development operations, data management, or similar role
      • Familiarity with non-profit development operations a plus
      • Existing skills or interest in building project management skills a plus
    • Proficiency with CRM systems; Salesforce strongly preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills and a drive to make details matter
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
    • Proficient with office technologies (Google suite, Microsoft Office, etc.) and a desire to continuously improve systems and processes.
