    Senior Director of Legal Advocacy

    Salary: $95K - $105K

    Overview:

    Animal Outlook (AO) is a national non-profit animal protection organization working to disrupt animal agribusiness and build a better tomorrow for all animals. AO is seeking a Senior Director of Legal Advocacy to lead the organization’s legal advocacy strategy and advance systemic change through litigation, regulatory advocacy, and policy engagement.

    Position Objective:

    The Senior Director of Legal Advocacy will develop and execute Animal Outlook’s legal advocacy strategy to challenge animal agribusiness practices, influence policy and regulatory outcomes, and support organizational campaigns through strong legal analysis and leadership.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and lead AO’s legal advocacy strategy
    • Identify and pursue impact litigation and legal advocacy opportunities
    • Monitor legislation and regulatory developments
    • Draft and oversee legal filings and advocacy materials
    • Provide legal guidance to internal teams
    • Manage outside counsel and coalition partners
    • Supervise legal staff and consultants
    • Manage legal budgets and contracts
    • Represent AO in coalitions and public advocacy efforts

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
    • Admission to a U.S. state bar
    • Significant experience in legal advocacy or public interest law
    • Litigation experience
    • Leadership and management experience
    • An entrepreneurial spirit
    • Strong legal research and writing skills
    • Experience within the animal protection movement
    • Commitment to Animal Outlook’s mission
