Fundación Pasos de Inclusión is a non-profit organisation located in the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Samaná, in the Dominican Republic. We improve the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders or specific needs for educational support through training and therapeutic rehabilitation. At Pasos de Inclusión, we aim to change the living conditions of children, teenagers and adults with difficulties developing their capacities fully. Our goal is to create a space to generate equal opportunities by developing educational processes based on individuals' needs and promoting social-inclusive labour policies within the municipality. We want to give visibility to all people who live in a situation of inequality in their condition of dysfunction or disability. Our work is a shared effort between the families, educators, therapists, psychologists and volunteers who want to achieve full inclusion in the community of people with disabilities. The aid provided by voluntary donors makes it possible to maintain the projects already implemented and develop new programs to favour the full inclusion and social participation of people with disabilities.
