  • Mission

The mission statement of the Hickory Landmarks Society is to serve the Hickory region by leading in the protection of historically or architecturally significant neighborhoods, individual landmarks and traditions. We do this through education, advocacy, property management, and ensuring responsible historic preservation as part of community growth.

    About Us

The Hickory Landmarks Society provides tours of the Propst House and Maple Grove in Hickory. These tours are free to the public. We are looking for docents.

Three of our annual events are the Romance of the Home & Garden Tour held on a Saturday in May 20, 2023, Heritage Days at Maple Grove which is a free education program for fourth graders held on a Thursday and Friday in April 20 and 21st, and the Poinsettia Sale which is held in late November to early December. We would like volunteers to help with these events.

We are also looking for a volunteer to put some things in our scrapbook for us.

Other ways to volunteer are helping maintain the buildings, landscaping, fundraising, and office help.
