About Us

Junior Achievement (JA) was founded in Massachusetts in 1919, and our mission is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise and to understand how business and economics can improve the quality of their lives.

JA is a nonprofit education organization that offers nationally-tested, fun, hands-on, age-appropriate lessons designed to prepare students for the key economic and workforce issues they will face in the future. JA's programs teach basic economics, business, civic responsibility, problem-solving skills, and the value of staying in school to children in local public schools.

The curriculum is delivered by trained volunteers who are paired up with teachers in local public schools that have requested the JA program for grades K-12.
