Elementary Spanish Program

About Us

The Elementary Spanish Program (ESP) has been providing before and after school Spanish classes to elementary school students inBoulderand the surrounding areas for 40 years. Currently, we provide classes in 29 schools for over 600 students in Boulder Valley, St. Vrain Valley, JeffersonCounty, and Denver school districts.

We offer progressive Auditory classes for lower elementary students and Reading and Writing for upper elementary for students who have completed at least a year of our Auditory curriculum. If a child begins in Kindergarten, our program provides a leveled progression of classes through fifth grade at many of our schools. At each level, teachers incorporate the use of age appropriate drawing and writing activities, visual prompts, rhymes, songs, and an approach that is known as Total Physical Response Story-telling (TPRS). Our Reading and Writing classes are focused on culturally rich leveled chapter books that provide a strong foundation for continued study into middle and high school.

The Elementary Spanish Program Mission is:

to bridge cultural barriers, educate young children, and prepare them for life in our world community through teaching Spanish.
