The Roslindale Food Pantry has been serving the community since the early 1980s and was created out of necessity to address food insecurity and help those who struggle to access an adequate supply of food. Over the years, the food pantry has grown and developed its programming to meet the needs of the surrounding community better.
Currently, the food pantry operates various programs to fulfill its mission. These include providing individuals and families with access to a wide range of nutritious food items, such as fresh produce, dairy products, canned goods, and non-perishable items on two Saturdays each month. On a weekly basis, the food pantry supplies food to local residential homes or people living in assisted living facilities.
Additionally, the Roslindale Food Pantry recognizes the importance of education and community engagement in tackling food insecurity. One of the pantry’s goals for this upcoming year is to increase community outreach by hosting events for volunteers, clients, and any community members who want to attend.
