  • About Us

Portland's newest high school - Casco Bay High School, an expeditionary learning school - opened last fall to it's first class of 87 freshmen. Expeditionary Learning is a model for comprehensive school reform for elementary, middle, and high schools. The five core practices--learning expeditions, active pedagogy, school culture and character, leadership and school improvement, and structures--work in concert and support one another to promote high achievement through active learning, character growth, and teamwork. As one of 136 Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound schools nationwide we are involved in a new and exciting field in education.
