Start:Empowerment

Start:Empowerment (S:E) is a POC-led social and environmental justice education project working with NYC schools to implement curricula and programming centered around equity. We collaborate with educators, community members, and activists to foster spaces for social and environmental justice education and action.

We Believe:

• Schools must empower students to be decision-makers in their own lives and to become active participants in our society by employing principles of equity and justice.
• Education can be revolutionized by designing and/or redesigning curricula to include environmental and social justice-oriented content in classrooms both formal and informal.
