  • About Us

    The Nepal Leprosy Fellowship (NLF) is a Non-Government Organization (NGO) founded by Ms. Eileen Lodge in 1996 and registered at Nepal Government District Administration Office in Sunsari District, Eastern Region of Nepal. It is affiliated with Nepal Government Social Welfare Council (SWC).

    NLF is committed to facilitate the people affected and disabled by leprosy and other causes in the community to develop their capacity to find out, take and use opportunities to develop themselves physically, socially, mentally, financially, spiritually through awareness raising, educational, skill development and micro-enterprises activities with available local and external human, physical and financial resources in and outside of the community so that the activities of leprosy control for reduction of leprosy burden in community and prevention of disability and rehabilitation will be run by the community hence the problems of leprosy and stigma will be reduced

    Works in the five of high endemic Leprosy districts in the plains of eastern development region. The NLF office is situated in Itahi, Sunsari district to manage all programs and activities. The central Organizational level coordination and for Government relations is done through office in Kathmandu.

    All Leprosy works are done in coordination and with agreements with region, district and local health Institutions to support leprosy and disability program activities in four eastern districts namely: Saptari, Siraha, Sunsari, Jhapa. The major program of the NLF involves the support activities to leprosy and general disability program at the government health posts and community capacity development and mobilization in Leprosy control and rehabilitation activities in the community.
