  • Mission

To create a community of revolutionary readers who will advance to be the keepers of their people; the leaders for a liberated world.

    About Us

There is no better period to cultivate a culture of revolutionary readers than right now. We must have books that inform us on who we are--our land, history, resources, heroes, etc--our present conditions and our own political ideologies.

The Omali Yeshitela Resource Library (OYRL) is a project of the African People’s Education and Defense Fund (APEDF) set in the heart of the African communities in St. Petersburg, Florida, Oakland, California and St. Louis, Missouri.

The Omali Yeshitela Resource Library will be used as a tool to combat the miseducation and undereducation of our people--the African poor and working class, in particular.
