About Us
ReLIT NY (Read, Recycle, Repeat Literature In Transit) is a reading, donation and recyling program that gives out free books to New Yorkers. You don't have to come to us. We'll come to you. Find us at major subway stations with hundreds of assorted books for all ages and tastes.
We take donated, gently used books and hand them out at various major commuter hubs. There are no due dates or registrations involved. All you have to do is find us and take a book, or a few if you like. It's that simple. Our aim is primarily to encourage reading by making it more convenient and cost-free and to become a medium through which New Yorkers can recycle unwanted books and pass it on to others.
