    KIPP DC: KEY Academy is a D.C. public charter middle school currently serving 240 fifth, sixth and seventh graders. (We will reach capacity at 320 students with the addition of an eighth grade in July 2004.) KIPP DC’s mission is to prepare students with the academic, intellectual, and character skills necessary for success in high school, college, and the competitive world beyond.

    KIPP DC: KEY Academy is a member of the KIPP Network of 32 schools in 14 states and the District of Columbia. KIPP Schools are free, open-enrollment public middle schools. KIPP students are accepted regardless of prior academic record, conduct, or socioeconomic background.
