Ohio State Legal Services Association (OSLSA)
OSLSA is a nonprofit law firm founded in 1966 by the Ohio State Bar Association. It has two direct service components (Southeastern Ohio Legal Services® and Legal Aid Society of Columbus) and a statewide advocacy program (Ohio Poverty Law Center, LLC). Our mission is to obtain equal access to justice for our clients through advocacy, education, and empowerment.
OSLSA's rural direct service component, Southeastern Ohio Legal Services® (SEOLS), provides free legal representation to low-income clients in a number of civil legal problems. SEOLS does not provide criminal defense representation. SEOLS handles public benefits, housing, unemployment compensation, family, consumer, education, employment, health and other matters.
Southeastern Ohio Legal Services® (SEOLS) provides legal help without attorney fees to people with low income and limited savings and assets. We can also serve organizations of low-income people. We receive our funding from the federal and state governments and other sources. SEOLS provides free legal services from 6 offices across Southeastern Ohio: Athens, Chillicothe, New Philadelphia, Newark, Portsmouth, and Steubenville.
